The Formal Living Room: Thoughtful New Details

We recently revisited the formal living room from the Westlake Hills project to introduce a few thoughtful additions that transform the feel of the space. While the foundation and furnishings remained the same, new layered details bring depth, character, and dimension to the room. From the ceiling wallpaper to the antique Murano glass fixture, each update was selected to enhance the architectural beauty. The result is a space that feels richer, more expressive, and beautifully refined.

The newly added ceiling wallpaper draws the eye upward, highlighting the room’s height and architectural details while adding movement and visual interest.

An antique Murano glass light fixture introduces a sculptural element overhead, bringing texture and an unmistakable sense of craftsmanship to the space.

The layered additions complement the existing furnishings beautifully, allowing the room to feel elevated while still maintaining its inviting atmosphere.

Warm wood tones, soft textiles, and collected accents work together to create a formal living room that feels both polished and comfortable.

Revisiting a space can be just as impactful as starting from the beginning, especially when layered details are introduced with intention.
